Summer loving!

I thought I would do a very quick post about my current favourite summery nail polish! I am currently loving the Rimmel London 60 seconds nail polish in Rose Libertine (405).

rimmel

Price:

€3.79

The Packaging:

Glass bottle with black lid.

The Product:

The nail polish has a nice consistency, it’s not to runny and easy to apply. It also dries nice and quickly. But not to quickly, I can still take my time putting it on.

How I feel about the Nail Polish:

I am a big fan of the Rimmel London 60 seconds nail polish. The price is right, it is easy to apply, dries quickly and the range of colours is perfect. I’m really loving my Rose Libertine for summer, I wear this non-stop at the moment and I get so many complements when I wear it! I would recommend that you it a go.

No Blushing at the price of this Blusher!

Today’s review is on a blusher! I am not the biggest user of blusher, but I attended the Beauty booth camp last November and there I learnt that if I wear a peach blusher it would cancel the redness I have in my cheeks! On the day I gave the peach bobby brown cream blusher a go and liked the results. Although the bobby brown blusher was lovely I really didn’t want to spend too much money on a blusher, because as I said above I won’t wear it every day.

However while on my lunch break one day I wandered into the chemist and had a little look at the Catrice (the chemist didn’t really have much makeup). I did a quick swatch of the Defining Blush and the pigment was nice so I bought it in ‘Love & Peach’. Here is how I got on!

Price:

€3.00

The Packaging:

The packaging is clear plastic. It is small, skinny and light. Not really a whole lot I can say about it, but I do like it.

Blusher

The Product:

This is a powder blush and is easy to apply. The swatch I did in the shop didn’t do this product justice, you get a lot of colour for a small amount of powder. It stays on all day and the colour doesn’t really seem to fade as the day goes on. The colour is very pretty and I have to say I do love it.

How I feel about the blusher:

I am going to recommend that if you are looking for a blusher to give this ago. I was really surprised at quality of the blusher for the €3.99 price.

I would say to you however that when you are applying it use a light hand or you will have loads of blusher on you cheeks (and rocking a nice 80’s look). You will not need to build the blusher up at all, in fact I would say you might end up having to reuse your foundation brush (if you use one) or a bit of concealer left over to blend it in. It might even be an idea to pat your brusher brush on the back of your hand before you apply (nice! some tips thrown in for free! lol)

My verdict:

Happyface says go for it!

Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner. What a find!

collection 2000 lasting gel liner

I think we are all the same in that when we use a product that leaves an impression on you (good or bad) we want to share our view/experience with our friends! This is one of these experiences for me.

Price

To be honest I am not 100% sure what the cost of the liner was but it was under €8.

The Product

The texture is like most gel eyeliners, firm but moveable. The colour is lovely it is a dark matte black and is very pigmented.

I have had my pot a little while now and it hasn’t dried out.  I love the packaging, it comes in a small glass pot, which I think is very cute. The liner also comes with its own small bush to apply.

How I feel about the gel liner:

I love, love, love this product. It is so easy to apply, even when using the brush that comes with it.

The finish is spot on, nice and matte. It dries quickly but not too quickly, which means you still have time to fix something should you need to. I have hooded eyelids and this didn’t transfer to my upper lid. I like to sometimes wear my liner very thin and close to my lash line and this liner allows me to do this.  The liner didn’t move at all during the day, however it was easy enough to take off.

My Verdict:

I would recommend this gel eyeliner to very one, this is a real find in my opinion. The quality of the product you get for the cost is brilliant! I find it hard to find any fault with it, I know everyone is different but this lady is very happy.

Collection tend to have a reputation as a dark horse when it comes to make up and with this liner this reputation is deserved.

No 7 Beautiful Skin – Hot Cloth Cleanser

I ran out of my Dermalogica Essential Cleansing Solution at the start of December and with it being so close to Christmas I really didn’t want to shell out for the Dermalogica cleanser again so I went on the hunt for a new more affordable cleanser. Easy! No?

I started my research and found a couple that seemed to be affordable but they needed to be bought online.  I needed a cleanser right away so waiting was not an option!!

One of the cleansers I had heard great things about was the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser. I knew you could buy it online but I had heard that a small number of boots stores stock it! I had a look my local boots while buying Christmas presents but they didn’t have it! I did however came across the No 7 Beautiful Skin – Hot Cloth Cleanser. So I bought this cleanser on a bit of a whim. I don’t normally do whims!

No 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser

Price

The cleanser is just under €13, so at the start of December this was just perfect!

The Packaging

It has an expensive feel about it, the bottle is clear so you can see how much of the product you have left and it has a pump that is a nice and easy to use.
No 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser Packaging

The Product

The product its self is thick and creamy, which I am ok with. It is advised on the box to massage the cleanser on to your dry skin upwards in a circular motion. When you have finished massaging the cleanser on to your face you put the cloth under a hot tap (but not too hot that you burn yourself!) and use the cloth to wash off the cleanser as you do normally. To be very honest the first time I used this I was not blown away but as experience has taught me some of these things need time. So that is what I gave it!

How I feel about the cleanser:

I gave it two months and I have used it every day.  I don’t think the product needed time. My face does not feel very clean after using it and it doesn’t remove all of my makeup. If the water isn’t very hot it feels like there is a greasy residue left behind on my face. My skin isn’t any better for using it but to be fair it isn’t any worse either. So in essence it feels like it is doing nothing for my skin at all.  I am disappointed with the cleanser overall. I thought I would try to use up all of it before I move on to a new one but I think I am just going to walk away, which is a waste of money! And wasting money is not one of my favourite things to do!

Its not all bad!!

The cleanser came with a muslin cloth and from the start I loved using the cloth! I find it nice and gentle on the face and I can also clean around my eyes with ease! This has now become part of my daily skin routine. So if I did not buy the cleanser I would never have found out about muslin cloths! Like they say every cloud has its sliver lining!

I do wish the cleanser came with more than one cloth.  It is my understanding that the Liz Earle Cleanser comes with two cloths which makes far more sense! The cloth as to be hand washed with soapy water regularly and left to dry flat, it does dry quickly enough but it would make life a little easier if there where two.  I also am not a fan of the fact the cloth is white as I find it hard to keep it looking clean. But I still use it and have since gone out and bought more (from the Liz Earle range)!
